108 Military Central Hospital (Hanoi)
Client
108 Military Central Hospital (Hanoi) is one of Vietnam’s leading tertiary and modern hospitals, with a capacity of more than 2,000 beds, providing high-quality medical services to military personnel and people from across the country.
Challenges
The hospital’s operating rooms and cleanrooms required an upgrade to the air filtration system to meet the ISO 14644-1 Class 7 standard (≤352,000 particles/m³ at 0.5 µm), ensuring a sterile environment for surgical procedures.
The existing filtration system no longer met the required efficiency and airtightness standards, increasing the risk of cross-contamination and affecting infection control in the operating rooms.
Air Filtech’s Solution
Air Filtech supplied and installed a HEPA Terminal Filter Box equipped with Camfil Absolute K H14 filters, providing a filtration efficiency of ≥99.995% in accordance with the EN 1822 standard.
The solution was designed to:
- Create a unidirectional (Laminar Flow) airflow covering the entire operating room area.
- Maintain positive pressure to prevent contaminated air from entering from outside.
- Ensure uniform airflow distribution throughout the surgical area.
- Meet requirements for particle control and sterility in healthcare environments.
Results
- The operating rooms achieved and consistently maintained the ISO 14644-1 Class 7 standard.
- The Filter Integrity Test achieved 100% integrity, with no leakage detected.
- Significantly contributed to reducing the risk of surgical site infections (SSI) following the system upgrade.
- The system operates reliably 24/7, meeting the requirements of hospital operating rooms and cleanroom environments.
